Hello World!, Pleasure to see you here. My name is

David Wathuchi Gacheru

And I'm just a young, curious techie on a mission to build cool stuff and make the internet a safer place.

More about me, ...

I'm a Computer Science student at Kenyatta University building towards a career in Application Security. I am currently re-learning and mastering how to build websites and mobile applications that work — and I'm also studying how to make them unbreakable.

Based in Nairobi, Kenya, currently focusing deep into the nitty gritty of full-stack software development and cybersecurity, particularly Web Application Security, Mobile Security and Bug Bounty Hunting at the moment, and maybe additional interest in Cloud Security, Network Security, IoT and Connectivity Security, Security Operations, Threat Intelligence, Cryptography and Reverse Engineering later on.

About me

I try to think about problems in the society and try to solve them using the tech skills I am acquiring everyday

I am a first-year Computer Science student with real-world experience delivering a clients project. I built and deployed a complete e-commerce website for Kazana Glasses and CNC Services — handling front-end development, hosting, and deployment.

I am deeply interested in how AI is reshaping cybersecurity — both as a tool for defenders and as a capability that attackers are beginning to exploit. I am particularly fascinated by how large language models like Claude by Anthropic and GPT-4 by OpenAI are being used to assist in vulnerability discovery, code analysis, and security research. As I build my skills in both software development and cybersecurity, I want to sit at that intersection — understanding not just how to find and fix vulnerabilities, but how AI will change the way we do it. I am also highly interested in learning about AI, and the effects of its rapid growth that have changed the recent years of Tech by storm.

Alongside my degree at KU, I am currently enrolled in Cybersecurity and Full-Stack Software Development programmes — building the skills to become an Application Security Engineer.

When I am not studying or building, I'm thinking about how I can work on becoming 1% better every day.
